Managing donor declarations that authorise Gift Aid claims on their donations.
A declaration is a donor’s agreement to let your charity claim Gift Aid on their donations. You must have a valid declaration in place before you can claim Gift Aid on a donation.
Declaration statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | The declaration is in force — donations covered by it are claimable |
| Pending confirmation | Declaration received but not yet confirmed |
| Cancelled | The donor has withdrawn their declaration |
| Expired | The declaration is no longer valid |
Creating a declaration
- Click Gift Aid → Declarations in the sidebar
- Click Create declaration

Declaration scope

Declaration method
How the declaration was collected from the donor:
- Written (paper form)
- Oral (phone or in person)
- Web form
- Text message
Viewing declarations
Click Gift Aid → Declarations to see all declarations. Use the status filter tabs to narrow the list.
Cancelling a declaration
If a donor withdraws their Gift Aid declaration, you must cancel it. Open the declaration and click Cancel declaration. You will be asked to confirm.
Cancelling a declaration does not affect claims that have already been submitted.
