Managing donor declarations that authorise Gift Aid claims on their donations.

A declaration is a donor’s agreement to let your charity claim Gift Aid on their donations. You must have a valid declaration in place before you can claim Gift Aid on a donation.

Declaration statuses

Status Meaning
Active The declaration is in force — donations covered by it are claimable
Pending confirmation Declaration received but not yet confirmed
Cancelled The donor has withdrawn their declaration
Expired The declaration is no longer valid

Creating a declaration

  1. Click Gift Aid → Declarations in the sidebar
  2. Click Create declaration

Single donation One specific donation only
Future donations All donations made after this declaration

Declaration method

How the declaration was collected from the donor:

  • Written (paper form)
  • Oral (phone or in person)
  • Web form
  • Email
  • Text message

Viewing declarations

Click Gift Aid → Declarations to see all declarations. Use the status filter tabs to narrow the list.

Cancelling a declaration

If a donor withdraws their Gift Aid declaration, you must cancel it. Open the declaration and click Cancel declaration. You will be asked to confirm.

Cancelling a declaration does not affect claims that have already been submitted.
