Building advanced filters to find specific segments of your contacts.
A segment is a saved, named audience filter over your contacts. Segments let you build advanced filters to find a specific group of contacts — for example, “all donors who gave more than £500 in the last 12 months and have opted in to email communications”.
Accessing segments
From the sidebar, expand Relationships and click Segments.
Building a segment
A segment is made up of one or more conditions combined with AND or OR logic.
Condition types
| Type | What it filters on |
|---|---|
| Fields | Contact attributes (name, address, date of birth, etc.) |
| Payments | Donation history (amount, date, status, fundraising activity) |
| Touchpoints | Interaction history (type, direction, date) |
Adding a condition
- Click Add condition
- Select the condition type
- Choose the field and operator (e.g. “Amount is greater than”)
- Enter the value
AND vs OR logic
- AND — the contact must match all conditions
- OR — the contact must match at least one condition
