This integration configures outbound contact and communications-consent mapping to Dotdigital. Have a Dotdigital API user and password ready.
Current limitation: the outbound processor does not fully support the current contact-event and consent formats. Ordinary contact and consent edits can be skipped, even when the connection and mappings save successfully. Ask your administrator to investigate before relying on automatic updates; verify the intended consent state in Dotdigital through your established process.
If the service is not available yet, enable it on the Integrations overview, then open its Settings.
Connect
- Open Integrations → Dotdigital → Settings.
- Select the account’s Region: r1 (UK), r2 (US), or r3 (AU). The region appears in your Dotdigital account URL.
- Enter API user email and API password.
- Turn on Outbound sync enabled when ready and choose Connect Dotdigital.
Configure what is sent
On List mappings, use Add mapping to map an internal contact tag to a Dotdigital address book, then Save mappings. These mappings define the intended address-book destination; the outbound compatibility limitation above still applies.
On Preference mappings, map an internal communications channel to a Dotdigital preference and save. These mappings define the intended preference destination; saving them does not confirm that current consent changes are being delivered.
The Form subscriptions tab lets you save form IDs and display names, but inbound form polling is not implemented yet. Saving a subscription does not currently import form submissions.
Check sync and resolve problems
There is no manual full-sync button in these screens. Check delivery in Dotdigital before relying on the integration, and involve your administrator if ordinary edits are not arriving.
If an update is missing, check the region, outbound switch, contact tag or consent channel, and saved mapping. Connecting alone does not select address books or preferences, and correcting mappings does not resolve the current compatibility limitation.
Use Save changes to pause outbound updates by switching them off. When rotating credentials, enter both a new API user and password. Leave both blank to retain the existing pair while changing other settings; entering only one produces a validation error.
