Segments combine conditions in ALL (AND) or ANY (OR) groups. Nested groups can use their own logic, so a segment can express A AND (B OR C).

Conditions

Direct rules cover contact details, classifications, consent channels, linked organisations, giving and engagement summaries, tags and configured custom fields. Payment and touchpoint record blocks choose whether the most recent or any matching record satisfies the block’s rules. Group rules within a record block when several criteria must apply to the same payment or touchpoint.

Custom-field operators vary by the field’s configured data type; use the choices offered in the builder. A type or channel list is a membership test, not a substring search.

Consent channel conditions match an opted-in channel under any purpose. They are not a purpose-specific authorisation to send a particular campaign. Review the intended purpose before communicating.
